Gordon J. Kremer
State Advocate

Gordon Kremer has been involved with the Knights of Columbus since 1996 with Msgr. Gray Council 4416—Bloomington, Cassville, Glen Haven.  He has held numerous positions at the council level…the position of Grand Knight for 4 years, Youth Activities Coordinator for 5 years, Co-Chair of the Spring Pancake Breakfast, organized Council 4416’s “ Adopt A Highway Program” for spring and fall clean-up, Co-Chair of the Tootsie Roll Drive, and conducts the State Knowledge Contest for the council.

At the Third Degree level, Gordon has been Knight of the Month 5 times, Knight of the Year twice, and Family of the Month 4 times.  He has represented Council 4416 at the State Convention for 10 years as a delegate.  He helped procure a substantial yearly donation for the RESPECT LIFE billboard across from the abortion clinic in Madison.

He has held the position of District Deputy of District 40 for 6 years.  During that time he developed a computer program to assist district deputies in conducting their summer and winter meetings.

Gordon joined the Fourth Degree Father Mazzuchelli Assembly 1202 Lancaster in 1999.  He has served as Faithful Navigator for 9 years and a member of the Honor Guard for 9 years.  During his tenure as Faithful Navigator, Gordon was involved with the St. Augustine’s Chapel Fund, Inc. as president.  During that time, he and his fellow board members (Father John Norder, George Burns, Charles Wiederholt, and John Pace) were successful in acquiring $500,000.00 to restore St. Augustine’s Church (162 years old).  The church, which was built by Father Samuel Mazzuchelli in 1847, will become a focal point of Catholic Pilgrimages when Father Samuel is canonized a saint.

Gordon and his wife Susan were married in 1982.  They have been blessed with family commitment to nieces and nephews.  They are members of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church for over 42 years.  Gordon has served on the parish council for 4 years, where he was council president for 2 years.  He has been a lector and commentator for 44 years, and Eucharistic minister for 10 years.  Along with his wife, they have co-chaired two parish fundraisers, Italian Dinner Night and Country Western Night.  They provide the quarterly prayer book “LIVING FAITH” to St. Charles Parish, St. John the Baptist in Muscoda, St. Mary’s in Bloomington, and St. Mary’s in Glen Haven.  These prayer books are used religiously by our parishioners and shut-ins.

As a dedicated citizen to the community of Cassville, Gordon serves as a member of the Friends of Stonefield State Historic Site and Nelson Dewey State Park, Inc.  He is presently the President of the Cassville Public Schools Foundation and Alumni Association.  He also serves on the Strategic Planning Committee for the Cassville Public School System, where his wife has taught for the past 39 years.
